Trying to get my hands on a 2nd M553 so that I can confirm a duplicate problem or not.įeels like a problem with the firmware where it doesnt understand the normal auto duplex print command or does not recognized that the duplexer is installed. No error messages reported on print server, client or printer control panel. The printer is accepting commands for manual duplexing, just not automatic. The same problem is happening for all connected users Tested printing from multiple applications, word, outlook, pdf, internet explorer, textfile, etc. Updated firmware to latest datecode 20150731 Confirmed the "Device Settings" tab has the duplexer enabled on print server and local print objects Multiple print drivers including UPD PS 6.0, PS 5.8, PS 5.5, PCL5 I have tried several troubleshooting steps so far: It is currently runinng through a Windows 2008 R2 server and is network connected via static IP on Ethernet cable. We have a new HP Color Laserjet M553 (B5L24A) that is not allowing us to auto duplex. Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password. Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter.
